ABOUT
Thank you so much for your interest in Hope for Tomorrow Homeschool Co-op.

Who are we?
Our co-op started in 2021 with a small group of parents who wanted more for their children and were frustrated with the current situation in public schools. We opened our doors to meet a need that was and is continuing to grow in Hampton Roads. We are a church that desires to offer solutions to the problems many face when it comes to educating their children. Our co-op is an opportunity to children and parents to work together towards their education goals. Parents volunteer to teach classes and support the homeschool journey each year. Our co-op is a place where parents will actively participate in their childs learning and children can get the care and attention they need to excel in their education. Our student to teacher ratio is kept low so we can better meet each students educational needs. We typically start from the week after Labor Day until Easter and complete our school year with field trips from May - June.

What type of homeschool co-op is Hope for Tomorrow?
Hope for Tomorrow is a parent lead co-op, meaning that Moms (or Dads) volunteer for two hours and attend support group the third hour. Some parents do not enjoy teaching, so there are a few spots such as nursery, Preschool, support group, classroom assistant, lunch room, or floater (substitute). We want our parents to be comfortable and enjoy attending every week! However, if God has blessed you with a gift or talent, please consider using it as one of the classes you teach.

What does each Monday look like?
We will promptly begin our Mondays as one group in the Sanctuary at 10:00 am with devotion, prayer, and announcements. The Nursery and Preschool parents/teachers are dismissed first. We then call the Group Teachers and Group Assistants (for Kinder, 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade) to the front to begin lining up their students. Once they leave the room, the 4th grade and older students are dismissed to walk to their classes. The K-3rd grade children are never alone during the day. They have an assistant with their group all day that will walk them to their classes, bathroom, etc. Everyone will be wearing name tags with their schedule written on them.

Students in 4th grade and above will have a list of classes from which to choose. The website will be updated with the class choice as families register and commit to a subject to teach.
At the end of the day, the kids will be picked up from the Sanctuary for dismissal. Moms will need to pick up ages 0-3 from the nursery.

Each Monday will follow a consistent schedule. It's a busy day but so fulfilling. I remember the years and years of being a Mama to many little kids, and I can contribute my survival to the co-op support group every week. Just a few minutes to sit without kids, drink coffee, eat a snack, pray, grow closer to Christ, and share our hearts with other moms.

What about the High School Credit Classes?
Hope for Tomorrow will have options for high schoolers this year.

Let's Do Life Together!

42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ [n] doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. 44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 45 and [o] sold their possessions and goods, and divided [p] them among all, as anyone had need.
46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added [q] to the church daily those who were being saved." Acts 2:42-47
