  • June - Fathers' Month

June is Fathers' Month
Happy Fathers' Month!

June is the perfect time to celebrate the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, and father figures who step up, guide, and support YOU every day. Whether it is sharing a bit of wisdom, handling family life, or simply being a steady, grounding presence, a father's impact is profound. Join us as we celebrate and honor fathers this June!

So much destruction across our nation stems from fatherlessness. Fathers are called to care for their children.
“And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come
and strike the land with a decree of utter destruction.” Malachi 4:6

Fathers have the duty to provide for their families, both physically and emotionally, as a demonstration of their faith.
“Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith
and is worse than an unbeliever.” 1 Timothy 5:8

The duty of Fatherhood is a blessing and a reward. Fatherhood is intrinsic to his Godly identity and legacy.
“Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a
warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to
shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.” Psalm 127:3-5

The father’s responsibility is to provide guidance and teach their children the right path, shaping their values and character.
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Fathers are encouraged to nurture their children, providing discipline and instruction, in a loving and non-abusive way.
“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the
Lord.” Ephesians 6:4

Fathers have a great influence on their children, and the Bible warns against demoralizing them through harsh treatment.
“Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.” Colossians 3:21

Scripture expects fathers to show compassionate love, drawing a direct comparison with God’s love.
“As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.” Psalms 103:13

The purpose of discipline is found in the hope that we have for our children, and desire for their lives to be fulfilling and long.
“Discipline your son, for there is hope; do not set your heart on putting him to death.” Proverbs 19:18

A father’s role in passing down wisdom and values is crucial to the well-being of his children.
“Hear, O sons, a father’s instruction, and be attentive, that you may gain insight, for I give you good precepts;
do not forsake my teaching. When I was a son with my father, tender, the only one in the sight of my mother, he
taught me and said to me, ‘Let your heart hold fast my words; keep my commandments and live.” Proverbs 4:1-9

Fathers lead their families in faith and righteousness, just as Abraham was called to do.
“For I have chosen him, that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the
Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring to Abraham what he has promised him.” Genesis 18:19

Fathers are called to integrate the teachings of the Lord into every aspect of life, and to pass godly habits and values.
“And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your
children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie
down, and when you rise.” Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Let's Do Life Together!

42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ [n] doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. 44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 45 and [o] sold their possessions and goods, and divided [p] them among all, as anyone had need.
46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added [q] to the church daily those who were being saved." Acts 2:42-47
